We want to update you on the current situation. We are sorry to hear that some of you are getting frustrated with our staff because you feel that we are not moving fast enough on the vaccine roll out.
Patients shouting and being abusive to our staff, is not acceptable. It is not solving anything other than stressing you out and upsetting our staff.
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US ABOUT COVID VACCINATIONS,WE WILL PHONE YOU TO BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT WHEN IT’S YOUR TURN.
We know that you are frustrated and that you all want your vaccinations as soon as possible!
We understand that you want to protect your families. We want to protect you too!
We need to work together on this and we are asking you to be patient, please.
We must protect those at highest risk first and then work down through each group in order of risk.
We want to reassure you that we will get to you when it is your turn.
The vaccine roll out is not going to happen overnight, there is no quick fix, if we could vaccinate you all in one day we would, but that is not possible. We have to follow the guidance given to us and do our best to ensure that we vaccinate the most vulnerable first.
WE ARE COMPLETELY LIMITED BY THE VACCINE DELIVERIES THAT WE RECEIVE AND HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THEM: HOW OFTEN THEY HAPPEN AND HOW MUCH VACCINE WE ARE GIVEN EACH TIME.
You may be a shielded patient at high risk, but there are patients who are shielding with different levels of risk, so we must ensure that those at highest risk are protected first. We understand that you may hear of someone of a younger age who has already been vaccinated this may simply be that they are an NHS Worker, a Health Care Provider, Care Home Worker or are one of the highest at risk.
Our Practice demography also means that we have a higher proportion of patients in the older age groups, therefore it is taking us longer to work through them.
We understand that teachers, keyworkers and anyone serving the public on a daily basis want and need protection, but there are so many of you that you will have to wait a little longer, but please let us reassure you that we will get to you as soon as we can.
We care about our patients, we desperately want to protect you and as soon as we are able to we will.Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
